HDL
- Referred as "Good Cholesterol"
- HDL means High Density Lipoprotein
- Hangs on tightly to its Cholesterol, and won't let it go loose to attach to the bodies artery walls. This reduces plaque or buildup.
- Keeps Cholesterol in solution and moves safetly through out the body, and for these reasons it's why HDL is "good".
- Removes excess cholesterol from the blood stream.
- There are a higher number of people at less risk for HDL.
HDL Partical = 20% Cholesterol and 50% Protein
HDL transports Cholesterol through blood. HDL travels to the liver.
